Ahimsa Silk Care

With proper care, your products made of organic Ahimsa peace silk will last for years without losing quality. There are several important points to consider because our highly ethical silk , as a natural fiber, must be treated with due respect and care.

Very important:

  • Never spray silk with perfume or deodorant
  • Do not expose silk to direct sunlight for long periods of time
  • Do not remove individual stains with water
  • Never wring out silk

We recommend washing silk using the "hand wash" method (in your hands without rubbing or in a washing machine with the function of washing delicate or silk fabrics) at a maximum temperature of 40°C.

An effective home remedy for moths

Dry the sweet clover or orange peel and place them in a thin cloth bag. You can simply hang the bag in the closet with clothes and the moth repellent is ready. Alternatively, you can also use dried herbs to repel moths. Camphor, sage, thyme and lavender are particularly effective as moth repellents. Scented sachets with lavender, thyme or sage flowers can also be hung in the wardrobe as a preventive measure.

Natural extract of the tropical neem tree in alcohol solution is also effective, it repels moths thanks to its scent.

A large number of moth protection products are commercially available. The most famous are cedar wood rings, which are simply placed on the floor of the cabinet or attached to a bracket. Of course, a plain piece of cedar will give the same effect. The essential oils present in this wood act as a deterrent to clothing moths. The scent of cedar wood does not penetrate clothes.
